Albina Nikitina, one of the organizers of the Prayer Vigil.
A Prayer Vigil for Peace in Ukraine was held on July 10, 2022, at Calvary Temple in Winnipeg. The event was jointly organized and hosted by Albina Nikitina of Square One World Media, and Dave Loewen of Kingdom Ventures.
About 50 people attended the Prayer Vigil; some of them pastors who represented their churches and communities. They were led through a series of prayers for the people of Ukraine, Russia, and Canada. After the event, people were happy to stay for a time of coffee and fellowship where they shared their concerns about Ukraine and Russia.
“Thank you to everyone who prayed and helped with the Prayer Vigil,” says Albina. “We had a strong prayer spirit and people felt comfortable praying together in groups.”
It takes courage and personal sacrifice to participate in a prayer vigil. The Holy Spirit equips us with boldness to come together in person to jointly approach the Throne of Grace, to worship God, and to interceded for Ukraine and Russia.
The next Prayer Vigil will be held on September 18, 2022. Please save this date to pray for peace in Ukraine. “And if by that time our prayers for peace are answered", Albina adds, "we will come together to celebrate!”
