New studio equipment has finally arrived in our studios here at Square One!
Our film studio has always been an exceptional space to film projects like Een scheenet Läwen (A Good Life), Madrasat Al-qeyadeh (School of Leadership), 180 Grados, and Raze Zindagi (Secret of Life).
Nevertheless, we are long overdue for some improvements to the studio. Last year, Production Manager Grant Hoeppner decided it was time to upgrade our 15-year old equipment.
“This equipment wasn’t going to last forever,” says Grant. “We were starting to see some glitches and things we had to work around.”
To keep the high production value our audience expects, we need to keep our equipment current.
Over the past several months, we’ve received three new cameras; new lenses, control units, a dolly system, an intercom system, tripods, and studio lights to replace our current system.
“It was kind of like Christmas,” says Grant. “It’s a good feeling to be able to plug in the new parts and pieces.”
This new equipment will give our production team more creative flexibility in post-production, and versatility for current and upcoming Square One projects.
But, it doesn’t stop there.
Here at Square One, we’re always looking for ways to improve the quality of our content so that we can continue producing inspiring and culturally relevant media to bring the hope of Jesus to the world.
Eric Boorman, one of the camera operators at Square One, is thrilled with the upgraded equipment. He says, "It's like going from driving a go-kart to driving a Cadillac!"
As part of our 75th-anniversary celebration, we’ve launched the $75 for 75 Years campaign to help support these studio upgrades.
The total cost of all the new film studio equipment we hope to install is $100,000. As of today, we’ve raised over 70% of that goal!
Through your donation of $75 (or however much is on your heart to give), you can help us get to the finish line!
