So much of what we do here at Square One is giving fellow brothers and sisters in Christ a platform for them to tell their incredible stories and testimonies of what God has done in their lives. It is not only a blessing and encouragement to our audiences, but also to our hosts and producers working on the various projects.
Recently, our Spanish media producers, Heriberto Ayala and Marina Pinto, told us about some powerful stories they’ve heard from the guests they interviewed.
“I enjoy keeping in contact with each one of my interviewees,” says Marina, host and producer of Encuentro Familiar (Family Encounter). “I recently interviewed Ada, who told me about a time when she and her three children were taken hostage and threatened to be killed. At a moment where she feared they would die, Ada recited Psalm 23:4; ‘Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.’ At that moment, her kidnappers released her. She knew that God had protected them.
“I cried hearing Ada’s story, it was truly a testament of God’s love and faithfulness to those who follow him.”
Encuentro (Encounter) host, Heriberto, also heard an influential testimony.
“I interviewed a man who, as a child, found his mother in bed with another man,” Heriberto says. “As an adult, he was filled with a deep hatred and a desire to kill her. However, an encounter with God transformed his hate into love. He sought his mother, embraced her, and apologized for the resentment he had harbored.
“His story deeply impacted me, demonstrating how faith in God can change lives and heal old wounds.”
It’s amazing how the people and stories God brings to us to share can also encourage our producers and staff to continue the mission He has given us to do.
God has many ways of reminding us how blessed we are to be able to do this incredible work.
“My husband Heriberto and I drive into the Square One office from where we live in Mitchell, a town outside of Winnipeg,” says Viola Ayala, our Spanish administrative assistant. “A few months ago, driving to work, we turned a curve on the highway when a small car veered onto the road from the shoulder. There was no time to break, but the left lane of oncoming traffic was clear so we narrowly avoided the collision.
“It’s moments like this that remind us of how grateful we are for God’s protection and provision over us, as we live our lives in ministry.”
May God continue to bring us impactful stories of His love and provision, that will bless our producers and all those who listen.
