Preaching the Gospel message into the homes of people in Afghanistan and Iran
Every week since 2009, Square One has broadcasted live on televisions across Afghanistan and Iran with our Dari-language program, Raze Zindagi (Secret of Life).
Co-hosted by Square One's Executive Director, Shoaib Ebadi, and Daniel Reza, the hour-long show focuses on relevant topics in the Middle East from a Christian perspective, through conversations with guests who bring relevant experiences and perspectives.
"In a country where Christians are afraid of persecution, and the message of Jesus is often barred from entry, this program continues to reach people," says Grant Hoeppner, the show's producer. "For 15 years, I have had the great joy of producing Secret of Life alongside Shoaib. After all these years, we continue to listen to God and His will for this program."
Program Host
Shoaib Ebadi
Shoaib has served as our Executive Director since 2016. He also hosts the Dari-language satellite television talk show Secret of Life (Raze Zindagi) and the English video podcast series Square One Talks.
Born in Afghanistan, Shoaib was raised in a devout Muslim family. In 1999, when Shoaib was living in Pakistan, a missionary couple from North Carolina offered to teach him English, using the Bible as a textbook. While he originally was only interested in the language, Shoaib learned about the saving power of the Gospel and became a follower of Jesus Christ.
Shoaib and his family immigrated to Winnipeg in 2000. He has a Master's degree in Biblical Theology from Canadian Mennonite University, as well as multiple other degrees and diplomas from his time studying in Uzbekistan, India and Germany. He was instrumental in establishing the CHAI Immigrant Centre (Christians Helping All Immigrants) in 2007 and became a missionary with Pamir Productions in 2009.
