Come Sit With Me
Inspiring deeper relationship with Christ through Scripture, song, and the stories of Indigenous Christians
First aired in October 2023, Piwitapamin (Come Sit With Me) is a online video program that uses the stories of Indigenous Christians to inspire and bring healing to its audience.
"The hope is that [the show] will communicate the Good News to my people in a way that they would receive it and to even create awareness about Indigenous life and Indigenous issues through an online ministry," says Howard Jolly, host of the
program and Executive Director for the First Nations Alliance Churches of Canada.
Howard emphasizes that while Come Sit With Me tells the stories of Indigenous people, that the program is for everyone who needs healing. “It is the call of the
Church to acknowledge and celebrate each other’s differences. To walk in love with each other. I am calling each of my viewers, Indigenous or otherwise, to God.”

Howard Jolly is a Cree pastor and the Executive Director of the Indigenous Alliance Churches of Canada. He is also the lead singer in the Rising Above Band, a Christian music ministry that has been performing across Canada for over 20 years.

Originally from Waskaganish, Quebec, Howard was a victim of verbal and physical abuse from his father when he was young. However, one day, when Howard and his brother had returned home from attending school in southern Ontario, his Mom and Dad told them that they had accepted Jesus as their Lord and Saviour. Howard immediately noticed that his Dad was much more quiet and gentle than before. Prompted by the changes that he saw God had made in his father, Howard accepted Jesus into his life.

Howard earned a Master of Divinity degree in Pastoral Studies from Providence University College in 2006. He then served as a pastor at First Nations Community Church in Winnipeg for 14 years. He currently lives in Niverville with his wife Karen.
